BOOKING PROCEDURE

If you would like to make an appointment for your child for a medical evaluation regarding attention/emotional problems.

Please read the following important information.

  • Dr. Nel is a general practitioner with a specific interest and experience in the field of ADD/ADHD.  She is not a neurologist or psychiatrist.  It is sometimes necessary to refer a child to a specialist for a second opinion.
  • The first consultation is a private consultation and you will have to submit and claim it back from your medical aid.  Most medical aids do not reimburse for extended consultations with general practitioners. The tariff will be disclosed on request.  admindrnel@robertbroommedical.co.za
  • The first consultation will be an hour for primary school learners or 40 minutes for high school learners. It is a full medical examination as well as testing basic literacy and numeracy levels. It includes an explorative interview with the parents.
  • First appointments are made with Janita. She will confirm all contact details as well as send the necessary information/documents which need to be completed prior to the first appointment.
  • Follow-up appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes.  We will claim on your behalf from the medical aid, but the account remains your responsibility, for private patients the consultation fee is normal the private tariff.  Follow-up appointments of extended time will be charged accordingly.
  • A fee will be charged for telephonic consultations, written reports, scripts and chronic medication applications.  It is unfortunately time consuming and not part of your first visit.
